Slowing Down   Leave a comment

The train has left the station — but my mind, that is speeding forth on a faster track, has already arrived at its predetermined destination — Unable to recount where I have been the rationale disguised as truth insists — “What you’ve missed is worth the price to get where you are going.”

***

It requires a necessary discipline, halting tracks to slowing down — To reconnect with the source of life, that in its disregarded elegance seems to beg for my attention. How could I give Creator and creation praise … blinded sometimes by my own intentions?

I wind down, breathless and amazed … as though it is a first. This free, most precious gift exciting senses, calming soul with Spirit’s peace — bares a beauty that abounds with seeds for endless blooming.

The Offering   Leave a comment

I love eggs and the value of nutrition they fulfill

I love that for a chicken it is not a sacrifice but an offering

That without guilt I can thoroughly enjoy

My friend offered her suggestion of how much better it would be

To have and taste farm fresh eggs from her sister’s hand raised hens

The idea became a desire that I quietly tucked away

When to my delight on a country walk I met these hens the very next day

It’s so important to remember

All the desires that our hearts and minds contrive

Because dreams soon become erased

In the maze of life’s unknowns

But God who knows us all so well

Forgets not his children’s hearts

Our grandest and even littlest thoughts are logged

Engraved in God’s own heart

Surrender   2 comments

I asked God where have You been
That I cannot see and cannot hear

In surrender the answer came to me

Asking with Your mind
Is not how our thoughts align

Your heart holds the key
To open communication between you and Me

Do not squander free will for worldly ends
For this world and its corruption will surely end

Seek with your whole heart what cannot die

Love is the beginning
Love has no end

Crossing Paths   2 comments

I look for crosses everywhere

Especially when doubtful or in despair

But how amazed am I

When crosses cross my path

Unknown to me instead

We are the River   Leave a comment

Lord, oh God, Creator

Most Mighty, Holy One, Sacred and Supreme

When in lowly valley I fall sullen

You appear mysteriously so sudden

You gratefully redirect

My wanderings and my schemes

And permeate my dreams

The earth, and all of us, Your creation

Symbolic of who You are

Rivers flow on endlessly

Quenching the thirst of earth and all dependent on it

The waters unseen work churns beneath the surface

Hiding deep within its banks and bottom

Precious gems and many treasures

Living waters return to You in greater measure

By sweeping up each soul in its holy water

We, who You made most magnificent

We, who You trusted with Your creation

Return to You, most Holy One, who we call our Maker

And better yet, to love you more, as our Mother and our Father

Reliving a Kodak Moment   Leave a comment

George Eastman’s Desk —

His former home is now a museum in Rochester, NY.  His vision was to put a camera into the hands of the masses … Truly a believer who manifested his dream.   This massive accomplishment inspires me, and I hope you as well, to think big, take calculated risks, dream dreams, and live to accomplish all that you hope that God would hold dear.

Images reveal truths

Some wanted, some not

One picture portrays

What often words cannot

From cave walls to canvas

From film to pixels

Quickened by heart

Perceived by the eye

Freezing life’s moments

One click at a time

Struck by a sunset

Or a newborn child

Photography allows us to be

21st Century recorders

Of all that we see

Revealers of truth

Explorers of nature

Capturing love

Faith is believing in what I cannot see
With patience waiting in Spirit’s company
I put my trust in Thee
