Pain Shared is Halved – Joy shared is Doubled   Leave a comment

When I was two my mother died

When I was three my daddy left without good-bye

I was much too young to learn to cry

The tears we feel when someone dies

All these many years gone by

The pain still holds a place inside

It’s not often that I think of this

Feelings come from those I miss

Sometimes I can’t contain the pain

But I was taught not to complain

I killed myself with drugs and drink

And didn’t care what others think

The walking dead I then became

It was they who were to blame

There must have been a tiny hole

Where love poured in and washed

my soul

God’s spirit sang to me in song

And ever since I sing along
