What Matters Most   1 comment

How different are these days without my sister here

Some days her hopes were higher than a treetop or a spire

Restraining grinning, tight lips thinning

Withholding laughter to maintain

Her Spirit leaping from within

A grievous heart, I pray, to not resist or never to dismiss

Remembrance of her love and radiant glow

Her chiding words, firmly imbedded

“Reenie…What matters most is family”

Protective, guardian sister

Once scheming, dreaming children

Suspended in our playtime

Knowing not our destiny

Knowing now

What matters most
