It is Always Now   5 comments

I pray here now to declare

Your presence ever vibrant here

To speak aloud Your glories

In the eyes that meet You in the mirror of Your creation

To not absorb my self with self

But rather selflessly release

Free will to become one with Yours

Harness thoughts that seek an unknown future

Speed the track from past to present

Memories that shackle when dwelt upon too long

Or living in an impossible tomorrow

In an air that only You can breathe

Bring me back to this moment

Where I can be of love and service to live in full expression

Like a flower blooming on the vine

Never minding fate of wilting, falling

Back to earth then heavenward where the journey never ends

While still unfurling petals grow to magnify its beauty

With nature all surrounding giving homage to You near

What to Do with the News   1 comment

So let’s talk about the news

The kind you overhear or what you choose

All is, and all can be

A sacred opportunity for positivity

It is free will to walk according to The Way

To enliven our mind

To open our hearts

To raise up our voice

So, God, I pray

When I hear Your Spirit say

This is your battle to fight

This is your heart to mend

That I will respond humbly encouraged

To gratefully always say YES

Slowing Down   Leave a comment

The train has left the station — but my mind, that is speeding forth on a faster track, has already arrived at its predetermined destination — Unable to recount where I have been the rationale disguised as truth insists — “What you’ve missed is worth the price to get where you are going.”

It requires a necessary discipline, halting tracks to slowing down — To reconnect with the source of life, that in its disregarded elegance seems to beg for my attention. How could I give Creator and creation praise … blinded sometimes by my own intentions?

I wind down, breathless and amazed … as though it is a first. This free, most precious gift exciting senses, calming soul with Spirit’s peace — bares a beauty that abounds with seeds for endless blooming.

We are the River   Leave a comment

Lord, oh God, Creator

Most Mighty, Holy One, Sacred and Supreme

When in lowly valley I fall sullen

You appear mysteriously so sudden

You gratefully redirect

My wanderings and my schemes

And permeate my dreams

The earth, and all of us, Your creation

Symbolic of who You are

Rivers flow on endlessly

Quenching the thirst of earth and all dependent on it

The waters unseen work churns beneath the surface

Hiding deep within its banks and bottom

Precious gems and many treasures

Living waters return to You in greater measure

By sweeping up each soul in its holy water

We, who You made most magnificent

We, who You trusted with Your creation

Return to You, most Holy One, who we call our Maker

And better yet, to love you more, as our Mother and our Father

From What I See   2 comments

In a world that sometimes seems so overcrowded

We get a glimpse of our minuteness

And then we see through eyes of known eternity

That even in this selfsame world

Lies still its vastness and abundance

Have a Good Day   Leave a comment

Jesus said “There is only One that is good … That One is God” – Jesus did not say God is “best” because there was nothing, or no one that could compare to our Creator, nor will there ever be.

Strive to do, and to think, and to pray, for what is good … And at the end of the day, pray to see the good of God at work through the eyes of a good heart –

Trust that there is nothing under the sun that God does not see – We have a call on our lives to do what is good … Not according to misinterpretations of theology but by the goodness of God in our hearts … May love be the beginning, the measure, and the goal.

You Can Fly if You Try   2 comments

My thoughts like air can rise above

Any circumstance or perceived obstacle

Imaginings can raise me far above

Beyond what mortals see

To soar with heaven’s angels

So long as my thoughts are stayed on Thee

To spread my wings is to inform

To reveal God’s majesty

Here we are, not for ourselves

But to simply be

The beautiful mysterious miracle

God made each of us to be
