Where Your Treasure Is   Leave a comment

Frequently we adore, and put upon a throne

Those that seem more grand

In societal position or appearance

Oh God I pray to be ever cognizant

Of all creatures, and especially human kind

What the world calls poor and lowly

Is often where Your Spirit is I find

In a glance, a word, or deed, unexpectedly profound

These are Now the Places that Remind Me that I’m Home   Leave a comment

A place where brackish lakes and hanging moss are symbols

Not a breeze or water lapping or a songbird that is singing

And suddenly the silence broken by the katydids a-clickin’

A banquet longing to be digested by a deep and peace filled breath

Sated with an extra helping of the musty, moist filled air

The Spirit stirring overtaking

A pulse now slowed to rest

Looking Over My Shoulder   2 comments

It was all blue skies ahead

But when a sudden breeze, like a Spirit speaking

Turned my ahead around

A magnificent manifestation of the wonder of this untamed world

That inspires and overcomes my soul

Seized my breath and filled my heart with gratitude for grace, and the Spirit calling

Instilling wisdom when to face the storm, and when it’s time to take cover

The power of pausing to share a pot of tea

Has been utilized by kings and queens of majesty

Wars may have been averted

Alliances reformed

The simple act of sharing

Relationships reborn

Courage to Change   1 comment

You may not see things the way I do

But all of us share, and all of us need

Each other in which to live

Every choice we make can be an offering for some, or a sacrifice for others

Choose wisely as one day we all must lay down our life

May the reason and the cause for what we choose

Leave us with a clear conscience and a clean heart

‘…And the Courage to Change the Things We Can’

If I follow those that have come before me that have achieved what I desire,

I need to do what they do until I find my Higher Power’s way –
