Living as One   4 comments

Aware you’ve drawn to me your sole attention

I freeze in wonder where to turn

Readying to swiftly spring to speedy flight

Then as usual in calm composure you casually stroll away

You see my likes most every day

But how often do you take the time

To contemplate my being

Or comprehend the miracle that we are all connected

Not by Easter or sadly not by stew

But rather that the same Creator

Loves as much both me and you

Productive Waiting   2 comments

While I am waiting I will stay as busy as can be

I’ll stay and wait

Or stand and wait

Or walk then run then sit again

And sleep and eat between

Maybe write a book

Or see a picture I can snap

I’ll take a course

Learn something new

But all the while be waiting

I’ll not forget to pray

And remember to acknowledge

That while I wait I’m not alone

And although I cannot live tomorrow

To hold it in my memory

For tomorrow lives somehow within

Of the promise of what’s to come

While I live this day with gratitude busily awaiting

A LEAP OF FAITH   Leave a comment

While cranking up the patio umbrella

Preparing for a brand new day

I found an unexpected friend was waiting there

Oftentimes her message represents

It’s time to take a leap

As was the case when first discovered

For that’s exactly what I did

She posed just long enough for us to get acquainted

Reminding me that I am not alone

And with God’s help we are all equipped

To always find our way

An umbrella for shelter

The ability to forage for our needs and even our desires

To be appreciated by another

And always to be ready

To take a leap of faith

Baptism Requires Getting Wet   Leave a comment

In waters deep or shallow

I pray to keep rekindling this truth

To live today and give to You tomorrow

On my own I would drown in a puddle of doubt and sorrow

But with You, my God of all things possible

We can walk on water

Hibiscus   Leave a comment

Who on earth could create such a thing as this
“No one,” said the creature we have called hibiscus
The One who lives in all that breathes
Who lives among us and far above us
Made me for all to see
To witness our Creator’s majesty
To know that we are loved
You call me hibiscus
But God calls you Most Precious

An Open Invitation   Leave a comment

Leave your calendar open daily with room aplenty for God to enter in

To find at day’s end  your slumber laced with  peace filled recollections of the Spirit’s encounters that are undoubtedly uniquely yours

Always and Forever   Leave a comment

If we could not see the sky

Could we declare it is not there

Yet there are those that would insist

Retaliate and persist to prove it does not exist

The truth after all is this

We are the ocean – We are its beach

Our Creator, like the sky

Always and forever is within reach
