Living as One   4 comments

Aware you’ve drawn to me your sole attention

I freeze in wonder where to turn

Readying to swiftly spring to speedy flight

Then as usual in calm composure you casually stroll away

You see my likes most every day

But how often do you take the time

To contemplate my being

Or comprehend the miracle that we are all connected

Not by Easter or sadly not by stew

But rather that the same Creator

Loves as much both me and you

The Veil is Torn   Leave a comment

Come to know and to expect the Spirit working in quiet wondrous ways

For angels are always in your presence

Be alert and compassionate seeking how to please

You are precious and valued beyond your imagining and in My constant

 loving sight

There is no need to be guarded with Me

For what you try to conceal will only try to steal your soul

My love cannot be borrowed or purchased

It is a free will offering

To be received and returned willingly

By faith you are healed

By grace you live

By mercy you are forgiven

And the scars of your history are healed

By the forgiveness you allow

Broken hearts give sight to the sufferer

For the cost of true compassion is dear

See Me … for I am always here

In seabirds, sunsets, white capped waves

And in the mirror of your self examination

Always and Forever   Leave a comment

If we could not see the sky

Could we declare it is not there

Yet there are those that would insist

Retaliate and persist to prove it does not exist

The truth after all is this

We are the ocean – We are its beach

Our Creator, like the sky

Always and forever is within reach

Starting Young   Leave a comment

Sometimes it’s a vision … perhaps just a glimpse

Or having our senses incited by a whiff

Instilling what our future holds

Depends so much upon the world that we let in

Steeped in choices percolating new ideas

Stirs us deeply in our souls

To share with one another all the good that we behold

Now is All We Have   2 comments

Yesterday was but a dream

Feasting on the weather

Taking rest and deep breaths under a southern golden sun

A polo match in the distance

Ponies in their paddocks taking ease

Sharing nature with her best

Freezing images for this day to be easily recalled

Then suddenly without warning

Reality was rearranged

Our rescue pup, who has already suffered far too much

Went into anaphylactic shock

It is not what suddenly occurs

But how we choose to respond

Is what matters all the more

Racing to a frantically found local ER

Her very life seemed quickly fading

Vets and skillful techs answered well their call

Today with rest and comfort

Grateful for life and all its earthly temporary preciousness

Clinging to all that is good

I say, Yes God … Yes I know

And I truly do believe in life eternal with Thee for all

But in this day, and in this moment now, I am so grateful for

Our family still on earth with us in tact

Receive, Retain, Release   2 comments

Thank you Lord for Your word

Your precious word that I have heard

To receive it as my own

Your word, this gift, hidden in my heart

Jealous for the day’s arrival to expound

Upon the Spirit swelling

Overflowing with great and precious promise

No mortal can alone contain

Your wisdom, comfort, love, and faith

Without expression as useless as a boat without an oar

Your voice, my rudder, Your Spirit, my oar

Becomes a mighty vessel to carry seeking souls to shore

Living With Nature   Leave a comment

There were bulls and calves and mothers of calves jumping like puppies when a trailer overflowing with rolls of hay pulled up to the gate.

One of the proud and muscular bulls stood not far off on a hill watching, waiting, wise, protective, wary for all that he has seen – All that’s gone before in his still unsure, all enclosed, forever-dependent life.

A smile wide with joy inside soon was stung by sorrow… Surrounded by town-homes and billboards of new homes coming; a strip mall in the distance – How long before this scene and all of its inhabitants soon shall be no more.

Tears that follow  joy are steady streams transporting the Spirit, released through love, ever resident in our heart.
